Winner of the Aquafina Elite Model Look Nigeria contest 2017, Stephen Aladenika, has given reasons why he collapsed and fell flat on his back when he was announced winner in the male category.
Not a few people watching in the crowd Sunday night at the Eko Hotel Events Centre, Victoria Island Lagos were surprised as Stephen went to the ground as if he was shot by an invisible gun soon after the organizers announced his name as winner.
But speaking about the incident, Stephen a 200 level student of Public Administration at Lagos State University said he was tensed up and many things were going through his mind before the announcement. “I am very happy to win the 10th edition of Aquafina Elite Model. It is a dream come through. My falling to the ground when my name was announced is my own way of thanking God and surrendering to him for the success,”
Stephen who was in tears of joy said. He said that any of the 10 boys that made the final could have easily won but he was the one that God chose. “I was also happy that my mom and younger sister were in the audience to witness this moment,” Stephen said.
Tobi Momoh won in the female category in the night filled with fun and excitement.
A total of 20 contestants, 10 male and 10 female contested the final. They were chosen after an initial casting of over 5,000 would- be models that participated.
The winners got N1m each from Seven-Up Bottling Company Plc makers of Aquafina Table water and will represent Nigeria in Elite Model Look International contest taking place later in the year.
