The EFCC on Sunday 2nd April 2017, won the most effective government agency in Nigeria award at the 20th City People Awards for Excellence held at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
While receiving the award, the Acting Chairnan, Ibrahim Magu who was represented by Head Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, thanked the organizers for the gesture while
dedicating the award to all Nigerians who in one way or the other are at the receiving end of corruption crimes effects.
Retired undefeated champion, Floyd Mayweather who is popularly known for his extravagant spending, treated his son, Zion Mayweather, to a brand new Mercedes-Benz Car for 16th birthday yesterday.
According to reports, Mayweather spent over six figures on Zion's birthday party.

The Itsekiri National Youth Congress, INYC, has called on the
agitators for a sovereign state of Biafra to remove Itsekiri land from the map of the Biafra.
This was contained in a communiqué issued in Warri, Delta
State by the President of the INYC, Esimaje Awani yesterday.
He warned that, “Itsekiri and its territories should not be included in any IPOB or Biafra plan.”
He stated that Itsekiri were an indigenous ethnic group of Nigeria’s Niger Delta region of Delta State presently resident in Warri South, Warri North and Warri South West Local Government Areas bordering the Atlantic Coast of Nigeria as their homeland with their only neighbours being the Bini to the North, the Ijaw to the South, the Urhobo to the East and the Yoruba of Ondo State to the Northwest.
According to Awani, from about 1490 – 1884, the Itsekiri had an independent political kingdom known as Warri Kingdom that was not subordinate to any of the World Powers in Europe or any African Kingdom.
He added that it was in 1894 when the Niger Coast Protectorate was established that it came under the
protection of Her Britannic Majesty vide the Treaty of 1884.
He further explained that by another Treaty of 1894, the Itsekiri remained under the British until the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria was created and in 1914, without
consultation with the Itsekiri people, Lord Lugard decreed Nigeria into existence and made Warri Kingdom (Itsekiri homeland) part of this enterprise.
Awani pointed out that by the map of the Republic of Biafra of May 1967, Edo and Delta states of Nigeria was never envisioned as a part of Biafra by the legendary
Chukwuemeka Dim Ojukwu, saying that the current inclusion of present Delta State, including the Itsekiri National territories of Warri Kingdom without due consultation is
preposterous, totally unacceptable and ultimately invalid.
His words,“IPOB and Biafra have their rights of agitation for freedom of self determination as enshrined in the UnitedbNations declaration, but other minority ethnic groups not
duly consulted and their approval secured should not be dragged along to avoid the mistake that led to the civil war.
“The magnanimity of Itsekiri in allowing Igbos celebrate the Igbo Cultural Day in our land should not be taken for granted as we urge IPOB to de-list Itsekiri territories and Warri areas from its proposed map.”
US President Donald Trump has said the United States will "solve" the nuclear threat from North Korea, with or without China's help.
"If China is not going to solve North Korea, we will. That is all i am telling you," he said in an interview with UK newspaper the Financial Times.
Pressed on whether he thought he could succeed alone, he replied: "Totally."
Mr Trump was speaking ahead of a scheduled visit from Chinese President Xi Jinping this week.
"China has great influence over North Korea. And China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won't. And if they do that will be very good for China, and if they don't it won't be good for anyone," Mr Trump told the FT.
Asked if he meant "one-on-one" unilateral action, Mr Trump said: "I don't have to say any more."
He did not give any further details on what action he would take.

Mr Trump's brief comments, published just days before the key meeting with Mr Xi at Mr Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Thursday, are the latest in a series of warnings over North Korea's nuclear development.
A suspected pickpocket kingpin, Dayo Skippo, has told operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command how he steals from unsuspecting
individuals in public places.
Dayo, during interrogation following his arrest in Ikeja, told the RRS decoy team that all he needs to do is to have the slightest physical contact with his victim and their valuables are gone.
The suspect, who confessed to being a pickpocket for a long time,
said: “I can use my head to remove anything from your body. I will just pretend as if i know you somewhere and in the process of giving you salutations, your item is gone.”
The suspect, however, appealed during interrogation to be given a second chance to turn a new leaf, adding that he would never go back to the act.
Meanwhile, one of his victims who narrated his encounter with the suspect said: “I went to Ikeja Computer Village to see a friend of mine.
After seeing him on my way to the bus park, I just saw someone hugged me from behind and later apologized to me when i told him I didn’t know him.
“Before i could look around again, i discovered my phone was gone already and the guy was nowhere to be found.
“I went back to my friend’s shop almost immediately to track
my iPhone and the location I saw was that my phone was already in Lagos Island.”
The Lagos PPRO, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, who confirmed
the incident, said that there will be no hiding place for criminals in Lagos State.
The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, for further investigation.

Big Brother Naija Housemate, Bally's eviction from the reality show has left viewers in shock.
Bally was evicted on Sunday after supposedly getting the lowest votes from the total 11 million votes that were counted.
From the total percentage which was supposed to be 100%, it was 100.01%, how?
Angry Big Brother Naija fans have refused to accept the votes saying it was rigged and manipulated in favour of one of the nominated Housemates.
Recall, Bally gathered over 30% of votes the last time he was nominated and this time, he supposedly came last.

An articulated vehicle conveying a yacht into Lagos burst into
flames on Sunday, the situation was causing panic.
The truck was on the Berger Bridge around Ojodu Berger, when pedestrians spotted flames and alerted the driver, witnesses said.
According to a witness, some passersby and the driver made
frantic efforts to put out the flames and succeeded in detaching the truck’s head which was on fire.
Emergency workers and members of the Lagos State Emergency Services eventually arrived the scene and helped to put out the flames.
Former Chelsea player, Mikel Obi was on target as Tianjin TEDA secured their first Chinese Super League win of the season on Sunday after three games.
Tianjin beat visiting Chongqing Lifan 2-0, with a goal from Mikel in the 48th minute.

Roger Federer defeated long-standing rival Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6 -4 to win the Miami Open on Sunday and continue his outstanding start to the year.
Since returning from his six month injury lay -off , the 35-year -old Federer has also won the Australian Open and Indian Wells and he heads into the clay season as once again, the dominant presence on the ATP Tour.
Roger Federer has beaten Rafael Nadal in all of those events this year and has now won his last four meetings between the pair.
The Spaniard was playing in his fifth Miami final but remains without a win in the Masters series event.
The first set was a tight affair with both players having their opportunities to break but it was not until the eighth game and 10th break point of the set that one of them was able to get ahead.

The Kogi Government on Sunday confirmed a case of Lassa Fever in Angwan Kura Community, in the old
market area of Lokoja, the state capital.
Commissioner for Health, Dr . Saka Audu , disclosed this in a statement.
He said a patient (male ) who is a resident of Angwan Kura, Lokoja, reported at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Federal Medical Centre Lokoja , with signs
and symptoms suggestive of haemorrhagic fever.
Audu said , “ This is to inform the general public that there has been a confirmed case of Lassa fever in
Lokoja , Kogi State.
“ The confirmation was done after a patient (male ) who is a resident of Angwan Kura , Lokoja reported at the
Accident and Emergency Unit of the Federal Medical Centre Lokoja, with signs and symptoms suggestive of
haemorrhagic fever.
“ The State Epidemiologists immediately responded by sending the patient’s blood sample to the designated Laboratory at Federal Specialist Hospital Irrua, Edo State for analysis, which came back positive for Lasser fever ”.
The commissioner said that the patient was eventually transferred to Federal Specialist Hospital Irrua , Edo State for optimal care.
“ The State Rapid Response Team was summoned by the commissioner and provisions were made for source/contact tracing and prophylactic treatment for medical
personnel who had contact with the patient before transfer.
“ All these have been concluded as all those who have had contact with the patient are currently being closely monitored.
“ It is important to note that it was discovered that the patient had travelled to Illorin, Kwara State where he had stayed for two weeks, he only developed symptoms of haemorrhagic fever two days after his return.
“ We are, therefore, uncertain whether he contracted the virus in Ilorin or here in Lokoja.
“ All hands are on deck to prevent further spread of the disease as jingles and other means of public
enlightenment are currently ongoing.
“ Any suspected case of Lassa Fever or any one with useful information related to this subject matter should
call this designated 08030607102 ’’ .
