President Muhammadu Buhari flew into Nigeria from his four-day medical trip to the United Kingdom on Friday evening.
The presidential aircraft touched down at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 6:46pm.
His return trip was disclosed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the United Kingdom via its Twitter handle on Friday.
The president said: “I went for further medical checkup. I am alright”.
Buhari, who departed for London on Tuesday, had been scheduled to return on Saturday (today).
The reason President Buhari returned a day ahead of the schedule was not disclosed.
He was received by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammed Musa Bello; the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Operations), Joshak Habila; the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Mr Jalaal Arabi; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu; the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa; among others.
