Despite Spanish giants Barcelona dominating both the La Liga and the Champions League this season, Lionel Messi believes French-side Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are the only two teams who are in a pole position of winning the Champions League.
Both City and PSG are currently boasting an undefeated record in the domestic league and the Champions League.
The Argentine attacker, however, did not rule out rivals Real Madrid, despite the Zinedine Zidane side current struggling form.
He made the disclosure shortly after claiming his fourth European Golden Boot Shoe award following his impressive form last season.
Messi, 30, made the remarks during an interview with Marca. "City is one of the strongest teams of the moment with PSG, so far they have been the two teams that have shown themselves to be stronger, but I never rule out Madrid.
"For what it is and for the experience, although now they are not having the results that everyone expects. I have no doubt that in the end they will be fighting for everything, as they do every year, Bayern too.
"City and PSG are the better today."
EPL teams have remained dominant in the European tournament, topping five of the eight groups, with Tottenham Hotspurs managing to keep at bay reigning UCL champions Real Madrid.
