A pregnant woman who fell into labour suddenly in a commercial bus was rescued by the Rapid Response Squad who took her to the hospital.

According to reports, the woman was said to have been on the bus on the way to Lagos Island this morning when she started crying out to other passengers on the bus that the head of the baby was out already.

The RRS officers were patrolling Ketu Alapere when they came to the scene upon hearing the shouts of the passengers who were calling out for help and screaming that the head of the baby is out.

The officers rushed the woman into their van and rushed her to a private hospital in Ogudu where she was rejected because she didn’t have a card.

After losing much fluid the woman requested to be taken to Lagos Island Maternity Hospital.

She was taken to the hospital where she was immediately taken to the labor room where she was attended to by three volunteers and two nurses.

The RRS officers left the woman in the care of the nurses and volunteers before going back to their duty post.
