Invalid Pin: JAMB warns candidates against buying another


Authorities of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB has warned candidates registering in the ongoing, 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, not to buy new pins in case of invalid pins, adding, “The cause of the invalid pin has been investigated.”

According to JAMB, the unforseen technical issues in the pin vending system was responsible.

The Board who released this at its twitter handle also warned that candidates should ensure that they have valid email and functional mobile lines before registration.

It said:” Any candidate with an incorrect email address will not be served, it therefore requires
entering the same valid email address twice.

“Each candidate’s email address will not be verified on the system before ePINS are vended.

“All candidates are to ensure that they provide valid phone numbers.”

Also, while warning candidates who proceed to.buy the e-pin in banks before creating their profiles, it urged the e-pin vendors (Banks) to assist the candidates create their profiles before vending the pin.

Besides, while reiterating its warning that no candidate should patronize unaccredited UTME centres for registration, the examination body
disclosed that many of those fraudsters are now in Police custody.

“No one should patronize fraudsters, many of whom are now in Police custody. Only CBT centres that are accredited by JAMB can do valid registration.

“Candidates are encouraged to utilise only Jamb accredited Centers (List available on our website).”

It, however stated that emails with candidates’ names, email and valid pins will be sent to candidates before today, 27th March 2017.
