Huge South Korean Cargo Ship Vanishes In South Atlantic

A huge South Korean cargo ship which had 24 people on board has gone missing in the South Atlantic.

Two Filipino sailors found on a life raft were rescued, AFP reported, citing a Uruguayan navy spokesman.

On Friday, a crew member sent a text saying the 312m-long (1024ft) Stellar Daisy freighter was taking on water.

The Uruguayan navy alerted merchant ships in the area, which began a search. A navy spokesman said they had reported a strong smell of fuel.

The two people rescued had been found by commercial ships aiding the search, Yonhap news agency said.

"A search operation is continuing for the 22 people," a South Korean foreign ministry official told Reuters.

South Korea also requested assistance in the search from Brazil and Uruguay, the official said.

The ship, a Very Large Ore Carrier (VLOC) with a capacity of 260,000 tonnes, was being operated by a South Korean company but was flagged to the Marshall Islands, and had 16 Filipinos and 8 South Koreans on board.

It had departed from Brazil, reports said.

Over 200 die in Putumayo floods in Colombia

Landslides have killed at least 206 people in south-west Colombia and left many more injured, aid officials says.

Hours of heavy rains overnight caused rivers to burst their banks, flooding homes with mud in Putumayo province.

The Red Cross said that at least 220 were missing, and another 202 were injured.

President Juan Manuel Santos, who travelled to the area, said troops had been deployed as part of a national emergency response.

He declared a state of emergency in the region.

Reuters news agency said more than 1,100 soldiers and police officers had joined the rescue effort.

One army officer said the main local hospital was struggling to cope.

The region's governor, Sorrel Aroca, told Colombian media that whole neighbourhoods had been buried.

Rescue services said their efforts had been hampered by continuing bad weather and damaged infrastructure.

"There are mobility issues on almost 80% of the roads, and from where the road ends, it is three hours to where the landslide took place," said one police officer.

Bridges have also been swept away.
Jose Antonio Castro, mayor of the provincial capital Mocoa, told Caracol radio that the town was "totally isolated", without electricity and water.

On arriving at the scene, President Santos told reporters, "My heart and the hearts of all Colombians are with the victims of this tragedy."

An alarm had sounded as the river's levels rose, leading many people to leave their homes for shelter, and avoiding wider loss of life, Colombia's El Tiempo newspaper said.

The mudslides were caused by the rise of the Mocoa river and three tributaries, a representative of the National Disaster Risk
Management Unit told AFP news agency.

Rescue services said 17 neighbourhoods had been affected
and Mr Castro said his own house had also been destroyed.

"The mud is up to the roof," he told Caracol radio.

The region, bordering Ecuador and Peru, is heavily dependent on agriculture and the petroleum industry.

While landslides and heavy rains are common in the mountainous area, March was Colombia's rainiest month since 2011, according to the state meteorological agency.

In neighbouring Peru, more than 90 people have died since the start of the year because of unusually heavy rainfall, which also caused landslides and flash floods.

Bastian Schweinsteiger scores on MLS debut

Former Manchester United midfielder Schweinsteiger scored just 17 minutes into his Major League Soccer debut for Chicago Fire on Saturday.

Bastian Schweinsteiger headed in the opener from David Accam’s
cross in his side’s 2-2 draw against Montreal Impact.

The German World Cup winner, who is 32-year-old, moved to the U.S. on a free transfer from the Red Devils last month.

After the move, manager Jose Mourinho apologised for the way he treated the ex-Bayern Munich player this season.

Schweinsteiger was signed by the Old Trafford club under former boss Louis van Gaal in July 2015.

The German trained alone or with the Under-23 side at United after Mourinho took over as manager last summer.

He returned to the first-team set-up before a Europa League game against Fenerbahce in November.

He also played his last game as a substitute against Saint-Etienne in the Europa League on February 22nd, 2017.

Schweinsteiger played the full 90 minutes on his home debut.

“Kemi Olunloyo’s Arrest, Makes Me Happy.”— Seyilaw

This is by far one of the most intelligent piece I have read.
Seyilaw, is not just a comedian, but a very wise person.

He has reacted to Kemi Olunloyo's detention . Read Below what he said.

PLEASE READ THROUGH.
I was one of the few who was happy when they heard Madam Kemi Omololu - Olunloyo was arrested as I believed it will serve as deterrent to others who will just put out things to malign others.

I was also particularly happy that there is a cybercrime law as I was going to sue a blogger, Emmanuel Oko Ekpo Bricks in Abuja for writing and trying to defame my personality for popularity and even went as
far as touring radio stations and granting video interviews claiming I was threatening his life despite the fact that I haven't spoken with him before up till now.

Then, I thought of the mistakes I have made in life that could have kept me behind bars if the victims have decided to pursue the case
( s ) and I decided to take the path of
forgiveness . Madam Kemi Omololu -Olunloyo has never been entirely right and we must acknowledge that and instead of just going after the Pastor, we must ask that he should
be kind enough to forgive.

I don’ t know if what Madam Kemi wrote about the Pastor was true , but what if it is not, we know what it means to have your character questioned, nonetheless we plead
for his forgiveness . We can’ t force it and so we plead for his forgiveness.

I have read from people shouting hell on the Pastor and I just laughed as I know what some would have done if it was them . Please don’t forget that we are Humans first before Pastoral call . I therefore, plead with whoever is behind the case against Madam Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo to forgive for Christ's sake. Thanks .

The Big Brother Naija housemates were flabbergasted as they were all visited, each member from a family was present yesterday.

They were all asked to prepare and present special dishes individually, but they assumed it was just another task. It eventually turned out to be the food they would serve their family members.

Bisola, TBoss and Marvis had their sisters come in while Efe, Bally and Debie-Rise were visited by their brothers.

However, the housemates were not able to interact with their relatives, as Biggie kept them on mute mode throughout the visit. This means they could not touch, hug or speak to their loved ones. They could only listen.

It led to some emotional scenes, as Bisola, TBoss, Debie-Rise and Efe wept so hard. Meanwhile Marvis could hardly hold back the laughter.

Juan Mata contributes to Mourinho's injury problems

Manchester United’s Juan Mata is the latest addition to the club’s injury list.

Manchester United’s injury problems
mounted on Friday as the club revealed Spanish midfielder Juan Mata would be out of action after undergoing a groin operation.

The 28-year-old Juan Mata, who appears to have gained United
manager Jose Mourinho’s trust after failing to do so when they were both at Chelsea – will be out for an unspecified amount of time, the club said in a statement.

“Juan has had surgery for a groin injury. Further updates on his recovery will follow in due course,” read the statement.

Mata’s news follows that of “long term” injuries as Mourinho termed it to both England international
defenders Chris Smalling (calf) and Phil Jones (toe).

Mourinho will also have to do without the suspended Ander Herrera and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Saturday’s Premier League match at home to West Brom as well as the world’s most expensive player Paul Pogba who has a hamstring problem.

United face a daunting run with nine games in April.

They are battling on two fronts to try and secure Champions League football next season, to finish in the
top four in the Premier League or if that fails by winning win the Europa League – they face Belgian side Anderlecht in the quarter-finals.

Protesters Set Paraguay Congress On Fire.

The demonstrators in Paraguay have set fire to the country's Congress amid violent protests against a bill that would let the president seek re-election.

Protesters stormed the legislature, breaking windows and fences.

The country's 1992 constitution, introduced after 35 years of
dictatorship, strictly limits the president to a single five-year term.

But sitting President Horactio Cartes is attempting to remove the restriction and run for re-election.

Protesters were photographed smashing in windows of the congress building in Asuncion on Friday night and setting fire to the interior.

The AFP news agency said protesters "ransacked" the offices
of those who backed the bill.

Police used mounted units, rubber bullets, and water cannons to disperse the crowd. Local media reports said dozens of people had been injured, including protesters, politicians, and police officers.

Santi Carneri, a journalist in Asuncion, said the Congress building was on fire for "more than one or two
hours".

There were "a lot of battles between people and the police in the streets", he said, adding that it was the worst violence of its kind since Paraguay became a democracy in 1992.

In a statement released on Twitter, President Cartes appealed for calm.

"Democracy is not conquered or defended with violence and you can be sure this government will continue to put its best effort into maintaining order in the republic," he said (in Spanish).

The attorney general's office said it had followed the events closely and was investigating the violence.

Earlier, the crowd took to the streets following a private meeting of 25 senators - a slight majority of the house - which approved a bill to amend the constitution.

The bill must also be approved by the other house of parliament - the chamber of deputies - where President Cartes' party holds a majority.

The chamber's president, Hugo Velázquez, told ABC Color (in
Spanish) that the sitting planned for the following morning would no longer take place and no decision would be made on Saturday.

Opponents say the bill will weaken the country's democratic
institutions. Opposition senator Desiree Masi said: "A coup has been
carried out. We will resist and we invite the people to resist with us."

Paraguay was controlled by military ruler General Alfredo Stroessner, who seized power in a coup, from 1954 until 1989.

The new constitution in 1992 created the modern government,
but there has been a long period of political instability and party infighting, as well as a failed coup attempt.

President Cartes' term is due to end in 2018.

The change, if approved, would also allow former president Fernando Lugo to run again.

Mr Lugo was ousted in 2012 over his handling of a land eviction in which 17 people were killed.

His supporters, however, would like to see him run again.

Three Nigerian nationals apprehended in India for online job and matrimonial fraud

Rachakonda police’s cyber cell from Bengaluru on Monday, March 27, arrested three Nigerian nationals for committing online job fraud and matrimonial scam.

The accused, identified as Emeka Santos, Chika Mitchille and Noah Simisola were also found to be living illegally in India as they had come to the country with a two-month visa in 2011, which was not renewed post its expiry.

"Post-demonetisation, the gang started tricking citizens of other countries online," said Rachakonda
Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat at a press conference on Monday.

He added that the trio had tricked a man into believing them that he had been selected for a job in the US and made him deposit money into various bank accounts on the pretext of paying visa charges, processing fee etc.

After the complainant and his wife realised that they were cheated, they lodged a complaint, following which the three accused were arrested.

The Rachakonda police recovered eight laptops, 17 mobile phones, two external hard drives, five data cards and other incriminating materials from their possession.

Mr. Bhagwat said that the accused had cheated people in matrimonial frauds, charity scams and through fake advertisements of e-commerce portals.

Santos, Mitchille and Simisola had also cheated people from Bulgaria, Indonesia, Germany, Brazil, Peru and Morocco.
